2006年09月25日 【ユース】高円宮杯準々決勝 広島Ｙ－滝川第二
試合結果とかはこちらで。
グループリーグは３試合とも見た。
テクニックとパスワークは格の違いを見せつけた。
エース平繁に、横竹・中野の２年生コンビを加えた３トップは破壊力抜群。
取られても取り返すサッカーは見ていて面白かった。
続くラウンド１６。
さすがに平日のひたちなかへの参戦は無理だったけど、
２点先行されても追いつき、延長で２点を奪いひっくり返す戦いぶりは
脳内で優勝を妄想させるのに十分だった。そして迎えた準々決勝。
前の試合、東京Ｖユース－初芝橋本がＰＫ戦までもつれ込んだため、
あわただしく試合開始。サポーターも応援の準備はドタバタ。
と、そんな中、ＦＫからあっさり失点。
立ち上がりが悪いのはいつものことだと思いつつも、この日に限っては全く調子が上がらない。
平繁のＰＫで同点に追いついたのもつかの間、またあっさりと勝ち越しを許す。
後半に入ってもこの流れは変わらず、逆に滝川第二の鋭い速攻をくらって２失点。
そのまま１－４で敗れた。２日前に延長まで戦い、中１日の戦いとなったことが影響したのか。
選手の動きは最後まで重かった。
そんな中、最後まで闘志あふれるプレーでチームを引っ張ったキャプテン遊佐。
試合終了のホイッスルと同時に仰向けとなり、最後まで立ち上がれなかった。
ほかの選手たちもピッチで泣き崩れた。見てるサポーターもつらい。
ようやく立ち上がり引き揚げてくる選手たちひとりひとりにコールを出す。
俺たちにできることはそれくらいしか。。。
いや。
これで終わったわけじゃない。
「まだだ！Ｊユースがあるぞ！長居に行こうぜ！」
（注：今年のＪユースサハラカップの決勝は神戸ユニバーらしい。失礼。）選手バスを見送るときに森山監督が言っていた。
『いかに悔しさをバネにできるか。』 と。
そう。このままじゃ終われない。
高校生活最後の戦いに向けて、遊佐が、平繁が、野田が、保手濱が、藤澤が、
今回出番がなかったほかの３年生たちが、
そして下級生たちも、技術的にも精神的にもひと回りもふた回りも成長するだろう。
